Trek was one of the best things that has ever happened to me!! It was such a great experience! The very first day when I had to be at the stake center at 4:30 am I was thinking that I was going to hate trek.... but then we got an extra 2 hours of sleep on the bus! oh and did I mention that I didnt go to bed till like midnight and then didnt fall asleep till like 1:30 then up at 4!! so after the 2 hours of sleep they woke us up for a bathroom break. Then after everyone had gone to the bathroom and filled up there water bottles we were on the road again. There was no more sleeping on the bus we had to play get to know you games with our familys and then they had to talk to us about how trek was going to be.
Then when we arived we went to independence rock and were able to climb to the top! I was stupid and dont have any pictures... :( oh well motivation to go again!! After independence rock we went to Martins Cove. It was sooooooooooooooooo spritual. You could just feel the pioneers around you and we had a little time to just think there and I was wondering how ANY of them made it and how someone could have so much faith to walk at least 30 miles everyday and how could they survive on only a little bit of flower and water everyday....... I am so so so greatful for what they did!!!
To camp we went. At camp we got everything ready to set up and then it just started DOWNPOORING!! It was sooooo cold and wet. It rained for like 5-10 min. then we were able to put up our tents and go get dinner.
In the morning it was off to the walking of it all. We walked to the Sweetwater River and got to cross it. I did not cross it I got to go across a bridge to stand by the handcarts that also did not go threw the river but to just see everyone cross was so spiritual. I could just imagine the pioneers walking across with there hand carts not having a bridge to take it over.
After the Sweetwater River we started to walk and a massive mud puddle was in our way and we werent aloud to go around so most girls beeing to whimps we are we had the guys (that included only 1 of my brothers because the others were lazy) pull it acrossed. They got all of them acrossed and had 1 more to go and they got it half way threw the puddle when it broke....
:( luckily it was not my cart.
After that we walked and walked and walked and walked. Then after ALOT of walking we came to the womens pull..... My family had the smallest family, the least amount of girls, and we were the very last group to go up. It was so so so spirtual I ended up crying.
THERE IS MORE BUT I DONT HAVE TIME TO TYPE IT AND THERE WILL BE PICTURES TO COME!!!!
